Hope Bridge

This bridge was built by Theodore Hope.The bridge’s foundation was laid in 1874 and it was completed in 1877. Interestingly, it was the first structure to be built in public- private partnership by the residents of Surat. The original bridge has been dismantled. The heritage walkway at Nehru Bridge has been built in its rememberance.
